- Changes in diversity throughout the metro region - Resident perceptions of the quality of life in Metro Atlanta and the City - Age demographics and expected trends across Buckhead and cities and counties in metro Atlanta - Correlations between life expectancy and geographic location - Neighborhood level educational performance - Educational attainment and disparity - Employment growth trends, including industry breakdown of employment by industry type - Shifts in home ownership and foreclosure - Forecasts of how the metro region will change in the future based on demographic and socioeconomic trends About Mike Alexander: Having worked for the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) since April of 2001, Mike is the Director of ARC’s Center for Livable Communities. The Center for Livable Communities is responsible for a range of planning and programmatic initiatives in the areas of transportation and mobility, community development, water resources, and leadership development. Key activities include the development and maintenance of the Atlanta Region’s Plan, the region’s comprehensive long-range blueprint, and development of the Regional Transportation Plan and regional Water Supply and Water Conservation Management Plan. The center assists local governments in the development of regional plans and programs and reviews local comprehensive plans and Developments of Regional Impact (DRI). The center also produces data to inform ARC’s planning activities.
