BBA Community Alliance

The BBA Community Alliance is the charitable and educational arm of the Buckhead Business Association and is funded, in part, by the Buckhead Business Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization.  The Alliance leverages partnerships with Buckhead civic organizations, businesses, schools, residents and nonprofit organizations to engage the BBA members in programs that strengthen the local economy, enhance education, improve Buckhead parks and neighborhoods, and promote a rich arts and cultural community. Take a look at a few of our  community outreach projects!

Community alliance 2017

  • Kids in Need – a school supply resource for teachers, based on the needs of the school, created by the Atlanta Community Food Bank.  Teachers can “shop” for free supplies for their classrooms.
  • Atlanta History Center – several BBA members showed up early on a Saturday morning in March to pull weeds, cut branches, and clear brush from a walking area used by the History Center and its guests.
  • Atlanta Community Food Bank 5k – members contributed funds and participated in the walk beginning and ending at Turner Field.
  • Atlanta Children’s Shelter 5k – members participated in the walk beginning and ending in Piedmont Park, and our own Necia Kelleher was an award winner in her age category!  Also, our own BBA president Barry Hundley serves as President of the Atlanta Children’s Shelter.
  • Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Great Strides Atlanta 2017 5k – members contributed and participated in this walk, and our own Roopa Bhandari was actively involved in the support of this cause.
  • Everybody Wins – a literacy reading program for elementary school children in several Atlanta public schools, including Garden Hills Elementary in Buckhead.  Members contributed several boxes of gently used books to be donated to this cause, and our own Leigh Clack is in her 3rd year of tutoring a young reader at Garden Hills.
  • Atlanta Humane Society – BBA members made generous contributions to the AHS wish list, including cleaning supplies and bags, toys, and newspapers, which required several trips to deliver.
